Trying to settle an argument with a friend and figured this is the right crowd to ask. He swears by doorstep service now — books it through an app, someone comes to his apartment parking, does the basic service in a couple hours while he's working from home. I still drive to my regular garage in Vazhuthacaud because I like watching what's actually being done and the owner knows my car's history without me repeating it every time. His point is convenience, obviously, and I get it if you're in Kochi or Trivandrum city traffic and don't want to lose half a day sitting in a waiting area. My point is trust and thoroughness — doorstep guys usually can't do anything that needs a lift or proper diagnostic equipment, so it's fine for an oil change and basic check but I wouldn't want anything more involved done on the roadside. What's everyone actually doing, not what sounds better in theory? Especially curious if anyone's had a doorstep service catch something that turned into an upsell they weren't expecting, versus anyone who's had a walk-in garage keep a car an extra day for something that could've been done same-day elsewhere. Trying to figure out if this is a real either/or or if it just depends on what kind of service you're getting done.
